There’s nothing like a homemade kids portrait card. Children have some
of the sweetest drawings, so why not put them to good use and add a super
sweet personal touch to a card for any occasion. These cards would be great
for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a Thank You Card, a Birthday Card or even
a Teachers Appreciation / End of The School Year Card, like our ones below.
We really hope you enjoy this super simple card.

KIDS PORTRAIT CARD:
1. We love giving the edges of our water color paper a torn look. To do this
fold your paper on each edge making a sharp and crisp fold, then line your
ruler up with the fold and pull back to carefully rip the paper. Make sure to
hold the ruler down tight while doing this.
2. Before sticking the paper on the card I let my kids draw their masterpiece,
this way if they mess up you can just use another piece of paper and don’t
have to rip it off the card.
They can either draw a self portrait for the person to remember them by,
or they can draw the person they’re giving it to. The picture below was
drawn by my 4yr old and is a portrait of her teacher. How gorgeous is
that dress?!
3. Once your child is done with their drawing you can glue it onto the card.
The card below was drawn by my 6yr old and is a self portrait. We thought
it would be fun to add some sticker balloons and have them break the
watercolor paper frame. I also love how he wrote his note on the front.
I wasn’t expecting it, but think it looks lovely!
